ACF Fund Profile – Dick and Diana Hubbard Fund

Dick and Diana Hubbard have been involved in community initiatives for over thirty years and are widely recognised for their generosity. In 2010 they set up the “Dick and Diana Hubbard Fund” with the Auckland Communities Foundation.

Their decision was based on a timely combination of events. After settling some affairs, they wanted some direction and advice as to where to best direct their money in way that would improve a worthy cause. Auckland Communities Foundation does just this: it matches donors with causes that most fit their interests.

The “Dick and Diana Hubbard Fund” is still in the development stage (being relatively new) but it has already been decided that it will have a focus on fostering educational and developmental opportunities for youth.

As of late 2010, Dick also became a member of the Auckland Communities Foundation Board of Trustees so he is involved in more ways than one. His drive and his enthusiasm are clearly evident. When asked about what he would say to someone who wants to set up a trust with the Foundation, Dick says: “it makes sense, they are the way of the future”. And it’s true, one only needs to look at the successes of the community projects that have already been set up in this way to see that Dick and Diana are, as they say, right on the money.
