The Tindall Foundation Regional Funding    

We allocate funds in the Auckland region on behalf of The Tindall Foundation’s Supporting Family and Social Services priorities. These distributions are made through our Grassroots Giving Fund. Auckland Communities Foundation is a Regional Funding Manager for The Tindall Foundation.

Grassroots Giving Fund 2017 - Guidance for Participants

Fund Priorities

The Fund will support community groups and charitable organisations who deliver initiatives in the Auckland region that support families and communities under the following themes:

  1. Early years
  2. Youth development
  3. Literacy and numeracy
  4. Budgeting
  5. Maori
  6. Migrant, refugee and cross-cultural
  7. Housing

Priority will be given to organisations working in the heart of the community using support from volunteers, rather than large well-funded service providers.  Grants awarded will range from $1,000 - $10,000.  For more detailed information, please download the guidance notes above.  Funding will support communities across the Auckland region - from Rodney (Wellsford south) to Franklin (Pokeno north).  This includes Auckland City, North Shore City, Manukau City, Waitakere City, Papakura, Waiheke and the Gulf Islands.

Before Applying

Please note that The Tindall Foundation also works with appointed Faith Funding Managers across NZ. If your organisation is faith-based, please check with one of the following Faith Funding Managers first before applying to the Grassroots Giving Fund (managed by Auckland Communities Foundation, Auckland Regional Funding Manager). Previous Recipients

Auckland Communities Foundation distributed regional funding on behalf of The Tindall Foundation in the Manukau area between 2005 and 2012 (managed by Manukau Community Foundation before its regional expansion to Auckland Communities Foundation in 2010).  From 2013, our funding manager role was expanded to cover the whole Auckland region.
